Thoughts
I have a few friends that I never see unless it is really windy or if there is a swell running. A few days ago it was windy so of course I saw one of these friends. I had not seen this particular guy for a while..I thought that he seemed to look a little bit older than the last time I saw him. I wondered if he was thinking the same thing about me.We got talking and I asked why I never seem to see him kite surfing anymore. His reply really surprised me..He said that kite surfing was for all the” young bucks” not him because he was getting old..I thought OLD ??? You are younger than I am but I still kite every chance I get…I realized why he was looking so much older is because he THINKS that he is old. We all get physically older every day but by thinking old you seem to speed up the process. The same day I saw another buddy that I had not seen for a long time.he too looked older than I remembered. He came over to me and said “Watching you out there made me feel like a ragged old dog” ..Another shocking comment !!! I thought what is wrong with these guys..They have not learned that you don’t stop playing as you get older, you get older because you stop playing.
Me, I am never going to be old!! What ever age I am, old age is fifteen years older. I fight the aging process by kite surfing with my son Jake, by doing lots of body weight exercises and martial arts every chance I get.
The vision that you glorify in your mind, the ideal that you enthrone in your heart, this you will build your life by, and this you will become.” –James Allen, As a Man Thinketh
Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason why so few engage in it.
There is no man living that can not do more than he thinks he can.
