More Energy Without More Caffeine

The first thing that you should do if you feel a lack of energy or if each day is becoming increasingly difficult to get through, is to make an appointment with your doctor or other medical care professional and have them check whether there is a underlying medical condition that is causing you to feel tired.

If you feel okay but would just like to become more energetic, then it it’s probably not necessary to see a doctor, but if on the other hand you feel constantly tired, there may be a specific medical reason that needs to be identified before deciding how you are going to increase your energy naturally.

For example if you  have an anemia problem which is a lack of iron, folic acid and vitamins B12 that is causing you to feel constantly tired, remedying the situation may be nothing more complex than eating more foods like curry, kidney beans, Brewers Yeast,beet juice that are rich in these nutrients  or by using a good multi-vitamin supplement to make sure that your body gets sufficient iron and vitamins to overcome the problem.

Lifestyle Is Important !

Once there are no underlying medical conditions causing your lack of energy,This is the point from where you have to identify why you think you feel as if you lack energy because if you don’t do this, you cannot begin to make the necessary lifestyle changes that will help you solve the problem.
If you are a person who is always stressed, you probably have one huge reason for of your lack of energy right there .  Also if you are badly out of shape or overweight, you cannot realistically expect to be super energetic.

  2. Get enough sleep. 6 to 8 hours if possible

  4. Try to eat more organic fruit and vegetables

  6. Add more fiber to your diet. Flax seeds are good. But drink LOTS of water with them. Eating flax seeds without enough water can cause intestinal blockage because of their high fiber content.   7. Take Probiotic Supplements for the first week so while changing your diet.

Although there is no particular harm in continuing to use the probiotics, seeds and bentonite tablets for a short period of time to optimize the internal cleansing process, you should not do so over the longer term.
If you were to do this, your system may come to depend upon these ‘artificial stimulants’ for good health, which is not something that you want to encourage.

After you have cleaned out your system and you are feeling better than you have felt in months (or perhaps even years), I would guess that you do not want to go back to the situation where even getting out of bed in the morning seemed like a major task.

Low-fat  dairy products (can add protein) ,  egg whites or egg substitute (egg yolk doesn’t contribute protein); lean breakfast meats like Canadian bacon, extra-lean ham, turkey bacon, or light turkey sausage; and soy milk and other soy products.You can get fiber from hot oatmeal (or another hot whole-grain cereal),Pancakes and waffles made with at least half whole-wheat flour (you can also add oats, oat bran, or ground flaxseed for an extra nutrition boost)

So when you running out the door on a weekday workday how can you get all these healthy foods into your breakfast ??

Here a few examples that might help:

  • Grab a higher-fiber granola bar (like Fiber One chewy bars), a banana, and 8 ounces low-fat or skim milk.
  • Have two slices French toast made with whole-grain bread and one egg  blended with 1/4 cup fat-free half-and-half or low-fat milk, 1/8 teaspoon vanilla, and a pinch of cinnamon.
  • Make a smoothie made with 1 cup frozen fruit and 1/2 cup soy milk or low-fat milk blended with 6 ounces low-fat “lite” yogurt.
  • A bowl of whole-grain cereal (1 cup) with 1/2-cup skim or low-fat milk and 1/2-cup fresh fruit (like blueberries)
  • 1 small whole-wheat bagel,   plus 1 cup fresh fruit (like sliced strawberries) 1 ounce reduced-fat cheese or1 tablespoon natural peanut butter,

A healthy balanced breakfast provides you with the energy you need to get over or through what is usually the hardest part of the day, whilst following this with a balanced lunch should be sufficient to provide your body with the energy you need to get through the afternoon as well.

Some people feel an almost overwhelming urge to have a nap in the afternoon, and unfortunately, if you are the office or factory, this fact does not make this ‘I need a nap’ feeling go away. There a few more enlightened companies who are beginning to recognize this fact. They have accepted that allowing employees to have a 15 to 20 minute nap is far better than having a drowsy employee who is incapable of achieving anything for an hour or two, but these organizations are not yet in the majority, and they probably never will be.

So instead of a carbohydrate packed lunch (which releases serotonin into your brain, a hormone that relaxes you), aim to eat something that is protein rich such as a tuna and boiled egg salad or steamed fish and vegetables.
Another idea that is very popular (but not scientifically proven) is that some herbal supplements can help to overcome a temporary energy deficit, with many people swearing by garlic capsules or tablets, Ginkgo Biloba or Ginseng .

Of course, the exercise program that you start will be dictated by your age and present physical condition, but you must nevertheless understand that if you want to feel more energetic and lively, taking up cardiovascular exercise is possibly the most important factor of them all.

    I don’t quite understand the entire energy drink obsession. I’ve sampled heaps of energy drinks and they do not really have a lot of effect on me. I imagine it’s primarily placebo effect resulting from their infamy as quasi “legal narcotics”.
