Recommended Daily Relaxation

Stress is the curse of living in modern times. The stress we suffer takes a heavy toll on our bodies, emotions and minds. Everyone suffers from stress in some shape or form.

Feeling stressed out, worn out by fatigue or just simply having a bad day, the best thing to do is try and relax.

Watching television can be a form of relaxation for some, but is not a recommended method When I watch TV I am bombarded with commercials, ads, sounds and images which after a while makes me feel more stressed out than ever.  If there are thousands of ways we can get stressed, one of which is not meeting deadlines, there are also many ways we can relax.

So how do we achieve relaxation?

My personal favorite is of course kitesurfing. But that is not always easily available for a lot of people and in the beginning stages  can actually be a little more stressful than relaxing.

One way of relaxation is transcendental meditation. Transcendental meditation is done by chanting soothing sounds while meditating, this helps to achieve total relaxation. Studies have also shown that this method might reduce artery blockage, which is a major cause for heart attacks and stokes. The researchers found that practitioners of transcendental meditation significantly reduced the thickness of their arterial walls compared with those who didn’t practice transcendental meditation.

Too much stress can cause a decrease in the blood supply to a bodily organ, tissue, in  part  by constriction or obstruction of the blood vessels that can lead to or cause a heart attack. Relaxation takes on added importance in light of this matter. Managing your anger and attitude is significant to heart health, and relaxation can help you manage stress.

Another method of relaxation is  acupuncture. It seems to reduce high blood pressure by initiating several body functions for the brain to release chemical compounds known as endorphins. Endorphins help to relax muscles, ease panic, decrease pain, and reduce anxiety. If you don’t like the idea of having needles stuck into you, something else you can try is called  Emotional Freedom Technique . . Or  Taping..You simply tap  some of same points that the  acupuncture needles would be stuck into. EFT is  like acupuncture with out the use of needles. It does take a little time to learn how to do it properly but some people have gotten spectacular results using it.

Yoga is also great for relaxation and may also have similar effects to acupuncture. Yoga is a form of progressive relaxation.

Breathing is one of the easiest methods to relax. Breathing influences all most all aspects of us, it affects our mind, our moods and our body. Take deep breaths when you are stressed. Simply focus on your breathing, after some time you can feel its effects right away.

There are several breathing techniques that can help you reduce stress.

Correct breathing can make a big difference to how you feel. It is  difficult to feel upset or angry when you are breathing deeply, quietly and slowly,  It can also a good way to help you get to sleep.

Take a deep breath right now !!!

Do you feel any different ?

You should feel more energized and alert. Low levels of oxygen in your  blood  makes you feel tired and sometimes causes headaches.

Do this easy breathing exercise every day especially if you are feeling stressed out..

Make sure you will not be disturbed for about half an hour. Get  comfortable, you may wish to sit or lie . Turn off or dim the lights. Close your eyes if it helps you concentrate, or better still keep them half open.

Breath as naturally as you can, breathe out slowly counting each out breath up to ten. Repeat this for about 20 minutes. Notice how your out breath is warmer . Listen to the sound of your breathing.

Another easy way to achieve relaxation is exercise. If you feel irritated a simple half-hour of exercise make you fell better. Set yourself some specific goals to work towards. Decide that you would like to have, if you don’t already, six pack abs. for example. Get one ore more  kettle bells and learn how to use them. Start Smallif you are out of shape.

One great way of relaxation is through massage theraphy. To gain full relaxation, you need to totally surrender to the handling and touch of a professional therapist, especially if you happen to be in Bangkok

There are several types of massages that also give different levels of relaxation.

Hypnosis is one controversial relaxation technique. It is a good alternative for people who think that they have no idea what it feels like to be relaxed. It is also a good alternative for people with stress related health problems.

Drugs are extreme alternatives for relaxation. They don’t always work as well as the other relaxation methods and you can become dependent.  This method is only used by trained medical professionals on their patients.

These  techniques are just a few of the ways you can achieve relaxation.  Another reason why we need to relax, aside from lowering blood pressure  and decreasing the chances of a stroke or a heart attack, is because stress produces hormones that suppress the immune system, relaxation gives your immune system time to recover and in doing so to function more efficiently.

Furthermore, the brain has a periodic need for a more pronounced activity on the right-hemisphere. Relaxation is one way of achieving this.

Relaxation can really be a  useful tool once a relaxation technique is regularly built into your lifestyle. Choose a technique that you believe you can do regularly.
